Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Production Director to lead our production team and ensure the seamless execution of all church services and events. This role will be responsible for setting the bar for excellence in audio, video, and lighting production, aligning with the church’s vision, and overseeing the production of both in-person and online experiences.
The Production Director will work closely with the Senior Pastor, Worship Director, and Creative Director to establish the visual and audible presentation of worship services, ensuring that technical and creative elements support the spiritual experience. The role also involves designing and managing all technical elements for church events, developing volunteer training programs, and maintaining the church’s production equipment and systems.
Primary Responsibilities
(Includes, but not limited to the following)
- Executing the vision of the church for worship services and setting the bar for the standard of excellence in all technical areas of audio, video, and lighting.
- Developing all systems for the production department, setting cultural expectations for the team, creating training content for volunteers, and managing the budget for the department.
- Working with the Senior Pastor, Worship Director, and Creative Director to develop the “look and feel” of in-person and online church.
- Designing lighting, scenic, audio, and video elements for worship spaces and events.
- Working with vendors, integrator companies, and contractors as needed for design, repair, rentals, and installation of gear.
- Planning and executing audio, video, and lighting for all church events including Sunday services, Midweek services, volunteer meetings, baptisms, youth events, special events, etc.
- Maintaining and upgrading the church’s technical equipment.
- Training volunteers to effectively use live production technologies.
- Managing inventory of all production equipment and assets in the church.
- Offer remote or on-site technical support for our campuses in North Jersey & Pennsylvania.
- Collaborate with Worship Director and Creative Director to ensure audio excellence in-person and online for all services and events.
- Manage the editing and distribution of weekly services to TV, podcast, and video streaming platforms.
- Managing livestreams through Resi (video streaming platform) to all social platforms (i.e., YouTube, Church Online, Facebook).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of technical experience or equivalent life experience.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to continually improve existing systems.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Able to see the big picture and pivot quickly if necessary.
- Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of AVL systems and experience in live production (audio, cameras, switchers, lighting, and scenic design)
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive projects to completion
