Summer 2027, The Cross and the Switchblade takes center stage at the historic Mark Hellinger Theatre-- home to Times Square Church. Based on David Wilkerson's best-selling memoir, this new musical dramatizes the story of a small-town Pennsylvania preacher who boldly followed God's call into the heart of one of New York City's most dangerous neighborhoods in the 1950s. What unfolds is an unforgettable journey of faith, courage, and miraculous transformation.

Auditions must be submitted by Sunday, July 26. Submit your audition today!

Part One: Performance Videos

1. Monologue

  • Record yourself performing a monologue from “The Cross and the Switchblade.” There are two options for men and two for women. Choose the monologue that best resonates with you!

2. Song

  • Record yourself singing a song from “The Cross and the Switchblade.” You can find reference tracks, lyrics, and instrumental tracks in the audition materials section. You may also submit a song of your choice if you prefer.

Part Two: Submission

1. Upload Your Videos

  • Upload both videos to YouTube as unlisted (unlisted videos can only be viewed by those who have the link)

Production Information

For those looking to join the team, please carefully review the production commitments before applying.

The show will run for 24 performances, three days a week, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, from June 6, 2027 through July 27, 2027

If cast, you must be available for all shows and tech rehearsals.

Rehearsals begin August 21, 2026, and continue through the end of May 2027. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday and Friday nights. You may not be required to be at every rehearsal; a schedule will be sent upon the start of the rehearsal process.

We ask that cast members be regular attendees of Times Square Church. This is more than a musical— it’s legacy and a chance to spread the gospel on a Broadway stage. TSC elders and leaders will check-in with cast periodically for support and encouragement.
