COVID-19 Update From Pastor Tim
Dear TSC Family—
We are all hearing about the re-opening of churches, and many of you are asking when Times Square Church is going to open its doors.
We are opening when we can do it with everyone. We are opening when we can celebrate with our choir, our children, all of God’s people, together. Christianity is not about ourselves, but others. That’s why we will come back when others are safe, especially our children and elderly. This is not about us but about their safety.
This is not a matter of faith, but a matter of peace. Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace will guard our hearts! That word means umpire or ref, as in a baseball or basketball game. Peace decides if something is out or something is safe!
Our leadership team doesn’t feel at peace with simply opening the doors of Times Square Church unless we can do it with everyone. Times Square Church is one church with four campuses, and we will open all of them together.
Pray for us that we have wisdom for our next steps. We, like you, want to get back in the church as fast as we can. Until then, we will continue to connect through our services and small groups online.
When we know that our children and elderly are safe to join us, we will open and update you on social media.
We love you and can’t wait until we can hug and sing to Jesus our King.
